Hi! I’m Dr. Christine

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, speaker, and consultant actively working to bring an anti-racist, intersectional, and inclusive focus to the forefront of psychology. With over 13 years of counseling and psychotherapy experience, I have provided support in the areas of adolescent and women's mental health, attachment trauma, and niched spaces for BIPOC (Black Indigenous people of color) alongside broader social justice issues including racial and gender equity. I continue to serve the community through the nonprofit I founded, Sol Sisters, Inc., a holistic health organizations that empowers women through the arts, mental health, physical health, and career development. I also dedicate my time to volunteering with various organizations, my faith community, and engaging in local and nation-wide activism. When I’m not working, I enjoy time with family and friends, dancing, eating, and working out. I look forward to meeting you.

LEADERSHIP

In 2013, I founded Bay Area-based nonprofit, Sol Sisters, Inc. The mission of our work is to overcome societal barriers between women of privileged and oppressed backgrounds by providing educational and empowering experiences that promote sisterhood and inclusivity. We have served thousands of women with year-round programming focused on expressive arts, physical health, mental health, and community service. I am also the podcast host of Solful Conversations, available on iTunes and Spotify.

I am a Women Leaders of the World alum and council member for How Women Lead, a high-level platform that works with experienced women in senior positions, giving them the training, connections and support to become catalysts for change far beyond their own fields and increase opportunities for all women.

ACCOLADES

In 2016, I was selected to attend the exclusive United State of Women conference headed by Michelle and Barack Obama, Joe and Dr. Jill Biden, Oprah, Warren Buffet, and other courageous leaders, for my dedication to furthering gender equality.

In 2017, I was awarded the University of San Francisco’s Living the Mission Award for my work with Sol Sisters and service to marginalized women and girls.

My passion for speaking on mental health and DEI issues has been featured throughout the Bay Area, Philadelphia, New York, and internationally by the Department of Health on the island of Bermuda, South Africa, and Canada. I have contributed to publications including Vogue, HuffPost, Variety, Microsoft News, The Harvard Business Review, and Fast Company.

I have also spoken at the UC Berkeley Women of Color Conference, Yale’s Women’s Mental Health Conference, The American College Health Association Conference, The California School Employee's Association, and Sol Sisters’s Nourish the Sol conference.
